Feedback, Feature Requests, Bugs, and Roadmap

ChangeCrab feedback turns the old suggestions board into a simple product feedback portal. Free changelogs can collect public ideas and feature requests with votes and comments. Premium adds roadmap, bug reports, private feedback, triage, and close-the-loop updates.

What is included

  • Free feedback board - Public feature requests, ideas, voting, comments, approval, and status categories.
  • Premium feedback workflow - Roadmap view, bug reports, improvements, private feedback, internal notes, triage scoring, ETA, target dates, duplicate tracking, changelog linking, lifecycle history, and status-change notifications.

Enable the feedback portal

  1. Open your changelog dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings > Feedback & Roadmap.
  3. Enable Feedback.
  4. Choose which feedback modules are available.
  5. Save settings.

Free settings

Free changelogs are best for collecting public demand without adding a heavy product process.

  • Enable or disable the public feedback portal.
  • Collect feature requests and open ideas.
  • Enable voting and comments.
  • Choose whether guests can vote, comment, or create feedback.
  • Require admin approval before feedback appears publicly.
  • Use status categories such as Under Review, Planned, Beta, and Completed.

Premium settings

Premium is for teams that want feedback to become a product planning workflow rather than a simple inbox.

  • Roadmap - Show feedback by status in a public or admin-only roadmap view.
  • Bug reports - Collect structured bug details, severity, environment, expected behavior, actual behavior, and optional repro steps.
  • Private feedback - Let users submit feedback visible only to the team.
  • Triage - Track priority, impact, effort, confidence, revenue signal, target quarter, and target date.
  • Internal notes - Keep decision notes away from the public thread.
  • Changelog linking - Link feedback to a shipped changelog entry when the work is released.
  • Close-the-loop updates - Subscribe creators, commenters, and voters so they can be notified when status changes.

Public portal vs roadmap

The feedback portal is the intake view. It is where users submit, vote, comment, and search. The roadmap is the progress view. It shows triaged feedback grouped by status so customers can see what is being reviewed, planned, in beta, or completed.

Managing feedback

Admins can approve feedback, change status, add official responses, merge duplicates, edit triage details, add internal notes, and link completed feedback to a changelog post. Free projects keep the workflow lightweight; Premium projects unlock the richer planning controls.
