Email Notifications Setup

Configure and manage email notifications for your changelog subscribers. Keep your users informed about new updates automatically, with support for category-based preferences.

Enabling Email Notifications

To enable automatic email notifications:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscribers
  2. Enable the subscription toggle at the top of the page
  3. Configure notification settings in the Page Settings section
  4. Save changes

How Email Notifications Work

When you publish a new changelog entry:

  1. The system identifies which categories the entry belongs to
  2. Each active subscriber is checked for their category preferences
  3. Subscribers with "All categories" receive the notification
  4. Subscribers with specific categories only receive it if there's a match
  5. Emails are sent with your customized branding and content

Notification Settings

  • Auto Notify - Send emails automatically when entries are published
  • Sender Name - Customize the "From" name in emails
  • Email Colors - Match your brand colors for buttons, links, and backgrounds

Category-Based Notifications

Subscribers can choose which categories they want to receive notifications for:

  • All Categories (Default) - Subscribers receive notifications for every update
  • Selected Categories - Subscribers only receive notifications for categories they've chosen

This helps reduce email fatigue and ensures subscribers get the updates most relevant to them.

Email Footer Links

Every notification email includes:

  • Manage Preferences - Links subscribers to a page where they can change their category preferences
  • Unsubscribe - Allows subscribers to stop receiving all notifications

These links use secure tokens - subscribers don't need to log in to manage their preferences.

Email Customization

Customize how your emails look in Page Settings:

  • Logo - Your changelog logo appears at the top of emails
  • Button Color - Customize the call-to-action button color
  • Link Color - Set the color for links in email content
  • Background Color - Email background color
  • Text Color - Main text color
