Email Notifications Setup
Configure and manage email notifications for your changelog subscribers. Keep your users informed with immediate update emails, category-based preferences, and paid weekly or monthly digests.
Enabling Email Notifications
To enable automatic email notifications:
- Go to Settings > Subscribers
- Enable the subscription toggle at the top of the page
- Configure notification settings in the Page Settings section
- Save changes
How Email Notifications Work
When you publish a new changelog entry:
- The system identifies which categories the entry belongs to
- Each active subscriber is checked for their category preferences
- Subscribers with "All categories" match the notification
- Subscribers with specific categories only match it if there's a category match
- Immediate subscribers receive an email when the entry is published
- Weekly or monthly digest subscribers receive matching entries in their next digest
Notification Settings
- Auto Notify - Send emails automatically when entries are published
- Sender Name - Customize the "From" name in emails
- Email Colors - Match your brand colors for buttons, links, and backgrounds
Delivery Frequency
Subscribers can choose when they receive matching updates:
- Immediate - Available on all plans and sends one email per matching update
- Weekly digest - Available on paid plans and active trials
- Monthly digest - Available on paid plans and active trials
Digest emails group matching changelog entries into a readable summary and include links to the individual entries. Free changelogs only offer immediate delivery, so subscribers cannot select weekly or monthly digests unless the changelog is on a paid plan or active trial.
Category-Based Notifications
Subscribers can choose which categories they want to receive notifications for:
- All Categories (Default) - Subscribers receive notifications for every update
- Selected Categories - Subscribers only receive notifications for categories they've chosen
This helps reduce email fatigue and ensures subscribers get the updates most relevant to them.

Email Footer Links
Every notification email includes:
- Manage Preferences - Links subscribers to a page where they can change their category preferences and delivery frequency
- Unsubscribe - Allows subscribers to stop receiving all notifications
These links use secure tokens - subscribers don't need to log in to manage their preferences.

- Logo - Your changelog logo appears at the top of emails
- Button Color - Customize the call-to-action button color
- Link Color - Set the color for links in email content
