Understand the difference between draft and published changelog entries in ChangeCrab, and learn when to use each status.

Draft Entries

Draft entries are:

  • Private - Not visible on your public changelog
  • Editable - Can be modified freely
  • Not Notified - Subscribers don't receive notifications
  • Visible to You - Only you and team members can see them

Published Entries

Published entries are:

  • Public - Visible on your public changelog
  • Live - Accessible to all visitors
  • Notified - Subscribers receive email notifications
  • Indexed - May be indexed by search engines

When to Use Drafts

Use draft status when:

  • Content is incomplete
  • You're still working on the entry
  • You want to review before publishing
  • You're preparing entries for a future release

When to Publish

Publish entries when:

  • Content is complete and reviewed
  • You're ready to notify subscribers
  • The feature or fix is live
  • You want it visible on your changelog

Converting Between Statuses

You can easily change entry status:

  • Draft >gt; Published - Click "Publish" button
  • Published >gt; Draft - Click "Unpublish" or "Save as Draft"
